Smoke alarm detector heads are fitted throughout the building in each area and enclosed spaces. These are all linked and every alarm will sound if smoke is detected.
Alarm call points are fitted throughout the building. These are linked and every alarm will sound if one is pressed.
Even if you believe an alarm to be false do not attempt to silence the alarm yourself .
Fire extinguishers are fitted throughout the building and serviced annually. These are for the use of trained Bricks staff. Tenants must not use the extinguishers. Building users must never endanger themselves attempting to extinguish a fire.
A fire blanket is fitted to the kitchen wall, instructions for its use are printed on the unit. Fire safety equipment must not be moved, tampered with or obstructed and fire extinguishers should never be used to prop doors open.
Alarms are tested weekly, full fire drills are carried out quarterly. All building users must evacuate in the case of a fire drill.
Upon discovering a fire, the nearest call point that you can safely access should be activated immediately.
Upon hearing the call point alarm, evacuate the building via the nearest exit and go to the assembly point: on the right-hand side of the building on a patch of grass as you first come into the carpark. Do not investigate the reason for the alarm being raised.
Call the fire brigade on 999 as soon as it is safe to do so and tell them the address: St Anne’s House, St Anne's Rd, Brislington, Bristol BS4 4AB , followed by Bricks staff, once it is safe to do so.
Building users must never endanger themselves attempting to extinguish a fire.
Wait for the fire brigade to arrive and do not re-enter the building until it has been inspected and given the all clear.
This procedure, along with evacuation floor plans are displayed throughout the building.
Ground Floor - reception, Mill room and at the side door fire escape.
1st Floor - central lobby, offices fire escape and side staircase lobby.
2nd Floor - central lobby, Mayk space and side staircase lobby.
