Annual General Meeting/AGM: Yearly membership meeting

Attendee: Non-member participant of BCG classes

Associate: The people with whom the co-op has a trading relationship with

Barbell: Exercise equipment

BCG: Bristol Co-operative Gym

Board of directors or board: All those persons appointed to perform the duties of directors of the co-op

Child/children: Everyone under 18

Clear days: In relation to the period of notice does not include the day on which the meeting is to be held and the day on which the notice is published

Coach: Coaches run the sessions at the gym. We also use the term facilitator

Code of Conduct: Our rules of what you need to do

Complaint: If another person’s behaviour or language makes you uncomfortable, report under our Complaint’s procedure

Constitution: These are our signed rules

Co-operative: The above society

Co-op member: Members of the co-op with voting rights

Custom flooring: We have special flooring that we have paid to be installed in the gym

Digital platform: A software-based website that facilitates interactions between users

Director: Means a director of the Co-operative and includes any person occupying the position of director, by whatever name called; 

Discussion Platform: The website through which we conduct our discussion online

Facilitator: Facilitators run the sessions at the gym. We also use the term coach

Funding: Finances secured to pay for ad-hoc purposes

General Meeting: Our meetings held 4 times a year

Google Drive: Our personal online cloud storage and file sharing document platform 

Grievance:  Concerns involving bullying, workload or working conditions

Gym jobs database: Catalogue of jobs required to keep the gym running

Handbook: This document

Incorporation: The process of constituting a company, city, or other organisation as a legal corporation

Member: Can be used for co-op Member (voting member of the co-op) or gym member (member of the gym, but not the co-op and therefore does not have voting rights in the co-op.)

Membership register: Document containing record of our members

Outreach: Implementation of working with external organisations to deliver programs

Participants: Both attendees and all types of members

Policy: Legally binding documents

Processes: How-to of completing tasks within the gym to keep it running

Quorum: The minimum number of members required to be be present at meetings

Remote: Access online

Share: Once you join the gym as a member, you will receive a £1 share in the co-op

Social: Informal social gathering

Squat racks: Weight training equipment

Terms of participation: Rules of engagement

Thread: On Loomio, the discussions are often called 'threads'
Vulnerable adults: Person aged over 18 who may be unable to protect themselves  from abuse, harm or exploitation, which may be by reason of illness, age, mental illness, disability or other types of physical or mental impairment
